This event is now history, but we have many more wonderful programs in store for you!
Come with Ranger Caden on a ruck (a hike with a weighted pack or vest) on the .7 mile Office Trail at the Visitor Center. The trail is easy, flat and relatively short, so we can focus on a challenging weight. Feel free to do as many or as few loops around the trail as you'd like, based on your personal fitness level.
No fancy equipment needed. Don't have a weighted vest or rucksack? Just grab a regular backpack and throw household items in it until it reaches your desired weight. Research on rucking and cardiovascular health shows benefits with as little as 15 pounds. Often, military, firefighters, and some park ranger positions must pass testing with 45-pound packs. Pick a weight that works for your body and your fitness level.

Hope to see you there!
*Event will be cancelled if inclement weather
