Ready for a lovely springtime HIKING ADVENTURE? Celebrate the day after Earth day as we hike up into nearby Bays Mountain Park from Laurel Run Park. This will be a great chance to discover the amazing diversity of our earth's wildflowers and native trees. It will also be a chance to view two small but dramatic waterfalls.
Please note that this is a challenging 4+ mile hike. Participants must be prepared for unbridged creek crossings, some very muddy trails, a few steep climbs, and the possibility of stinging nettles, black bears and venomous snakes. Wear long pants and sturdy hiking footwear. Bring raingear and snacks.
We'll meet at the big parking lot uphill from the Warriors' Path headquarters (the former pool parking lot), departing PROMPTLY at 1:00 PM to drive to the trailhead. It's about a half hour drive to the trailhead.
Note that you must preregister if you wish to participate.
