This event is now history, but we have many more wonderful programs in store for you!
Begin your journey into the natural world by learning one of the most important tools of every naturalist: the field journal. Join Ranger Graham at Roan Mountain State Park for an introduction to nature journaling, where participants will create their own field notebook and learn how scientists, artists, and explorers have documented the outdoors for centuries.
During this hands-on workshop, guests will practice recording observations through writing, sketching, and note-taking while learning how to document weather, wildlife, plants, and environmental details. This program serves as the kickoff to the Summer Naturalist Series and provides participants with the skills and tools needed to observe the natural world more deeply throughout the season.
