PAST PROGRAM

This event is now history, but we have many more wonderful programs in store for you!

Description: Earth Tones- Natural Tie-Dye with Walnuts

Location: Montgomery Bell State Park

Connect with nature in this hands-on workshop where participants will explore the art of natural tie-dye using black walnut husks. This eco-friendly activity teaches the basics of botanical dyeing, and sustainable crafting.

Participants will learn how to extract rich, earthy brown tones from black walnuts and use classic tie-dye techniques to design unique, wearable art. Each person will leave with their own hand-dyed creation.

No previous experience is needed, just a willingness to get your hands (and your clothes!) a little dirty.

Participants will meet Ranger Paige at the Group Camp 1 dining hall. There is no AC or Heat, so be sure to dress for the weather.

Go Green with Us! Participants have the option to bring their own clothing article to dye. For best results, clothing should be made with all natural fibers (cotton, wool, silk).

Participants wanting to bring their own will register under the $5 option

Participants wanting to purchase a bandanna to dye will register under the $10 option
