You’ve likely seen the Tennessee State Park shield on signs, ranger uniforms, and that cool hoodie your friend won’t stop wearing. It represents Tennessee's love for wild places, a commitment to conservation, and the spirit of adventure that runs deep in the Volunteer State.

Join park staff at the Burgess Falls Gift Shop at 12:00 PM on September 1st to paint and assemble your very own mini wooden shield, using materials handcrafted right here in Tennessee. No worries if you’re not the next Michelangelo, park staff will be there to help out. While we craft, we'll explore fun and fascinating experiences at Tennessee State Parks! 

And the end of this program you will: 

Take home a one-of-a-kind keepsake that celebrates the beauty of our parks. 

Enjoy quality time with like-minded outdoor enthusiasts. 

Support local businesses- our wooden materials are handcrafted by West Fork Screen Printing and Embroidery. 

This program will last approximately two hours and is perfect for teens and adults.
