PAST PROGRAM

This event is now history, but we have many more wonderful programs in store for you!

Description: Appalachian Crafts and Storytelling

Location: Cumberland Trail State Park

Crafting is a longstanding Appalachian tradition, born out of necessity and grounded in self-reliance. Traditional crafts often carried distinctive features that reflected their makers and the regions they came from. While we may no longer craft out of necessity, we can still honor these traditions and share our own stories through handmade work. Join Seasonal Interpretive ranger Cameron for a brief history on crafts and storytelling in Appalachia.

Participants will have the option to make the angels eye or a finger weaved bookmark for this program. Registration and a $3.00 dollar fee is required for this program. This program will take place in the Head of Sequatchie visitors center. Email cameron.d.johnson@tn.gov with any questions.
