Saturday May 31st
9:00 a.m. Soldier Rations: Meet SIR Kyle at the museum to learn about soldier rations from the 1860’s and today's modern warfighters.
10:30 a.m. Museum tour/ Haversack display/ Flags: Meet SIR Kyle at the museum for an informative tour through the Civil Battle at Fort Pillow, as well as an interesting insight on what the soldiers would carry on their person. A video screening on the park history is also included in this program.
6:30 p.m. Colonial Games with the Rangers: Kids and parents are welcome to join SIR Kyle to learn and play some games played by kids in the colonial times. Meet at the south bathhouse area in the campgrounds. 3-5 kids needed at least for the program to begin.
7:30 p.m. Campfire hangout!: Head over to SIR Kyle’s camp to partake in a campfire experience with other campers and/or park goers. Smores will be provided along with good company, music, and riddles.
Sunday June 1st
10:30 a.m. Hike to the restored fortification: Join Seasonal Ranger Kyle at the museum to go on a 2.5 mile hike to the restored fortification where the battle of Fort Pillow took place on April 12, 1864.
1:00 p.m. Women of the Civil War: Join SIR Kyle at the museum to learn about the different roles that women took on during the civil war and discover the truths about the brave women who signed up to fight disguised as men.
3:00 p.m. Wildlife safety class: Head over to the Museum to learn about how to safely be around wildlife in parks and in nature. SIR Kyle will have pelts to show off of different animals some found in the park or around Tennessee.
4:00 p.m. Primitive fire starting: Come join SIR Kyle at his campsite to learn about the evolution of fire starting and the importance of fire throughout human history.
