Description: 43rd Annual National Rolley Hole Marbles Championship & Festival

Location: Standing Stone State Park

Standing Stone State Park will host the National Rolley Hole Marbles Championship and Festival on Saturday, September 19, 2026, drawing some of the country’s best players to Tennessee where they will match wit and skills in what is known as the Super Bowl of marbles. In its 43rd year, this year’s event will include: World Class Marble Competitions, Marble Making Exhibits & Demonstrations, Marble Vendors & Swap Meet, Kids Marble Games & Festival, Food, Music Festival, and much more. Admission to the event is FREE! Fun for all ages! Marble play begins at 8 am (CST). Music starts at 10 am (CST).

This one-of-a-kind in the world event, known to many as “the world’s most challenging marble tournament, where only the finest players in the world dare to compete”, attracts players from different states and countries each year and has been featured by ESPN, ABC Evening News, Sports Illustrated, Charles Kuralt and CBS, the Smithsonian Institution, CNN, National Geographic, Southern Living magazine and even on Charles Schulz’s “Peanuts.

The game of marbles is an ancient and universal pastime and Rolley Hole is a folk game similar to croquet. It will be played by the rules of the National Rolley Hole Marbles Championship, on a dirt yard that measures 40-by-25 feet. The strategy comes by determining the best way to keep opponents from making the hole, which often requires skillful hard shots against their marbles, sending them ricocheting across the yard. (Pre-registration is required to play in the Rolley Hole Tournament, contact the SSSP Park Office at 931-823-6347 for more information.)

The festival will also offer several other separate marble tournaments for spectators and marble players to enjoy, including the games: Ringer, Tennessee Square, British, and Georgia Rolley Hole.

In addition to a day full of marble fun, the 43rd Annual National Rolley Hole Marbles Championship event will include a Live Bluegrass and Old-Time Music Festival. This year’s music lineup for the event will be announced at a later date.

The setting is spectacular, admission is free, and the talent line-up is top notch with a combination of great music artists, great marble making artists, and the world’s greatest marble players, this really a special one-of a kind event. This event is only possible because of our great sponsors such as: Tennessee Arts Commission, The Friends of Standing Stone State Park Inc., and Tennessee State Parks. Other sponsors will be added at a later date.

For more information about the festival, contact the Standing Stone State Park Office at 931-823-6347.

*The National Rolley Hole Marbles Championships and Festival was also recipient of the 2021 Tennessee Governor’s Arts Award, Tennessee’s highest honor in the arts. As the event is widely regarded as one of the most effective public-sector folklife projects on record in Tennessee. It has promoted a greater understanding and sustainability of cultural heritage, community heritage, and folklife across the region, state, and beyond.

**Standing Stone State Park is located 10 miles north of Livingston, Tenn., just off of Highway 52 near Celina and covers nearly 1,000 acres on the edge of Cumberland Plateau of north-central Tennessee.
