Description: No Flat Trails Spring Hiking Challenge 2026
Location: Roan Mountain State Park
The Spring Hiking Challenge sets a goal of 60 miles in 60 days, to be completed in your own time and at your own speed. Those can be miles you’ve walked, ran or hiked – in your neighborhood or through the woods – just make it 60 miles within the 60-day challenge time period (March 21st to May 19th, 2026). No matter what your background or ability, this event is designed to get folks outside after those long, cold winter months!
Registration opens February 1st and ends on March 15th. The registration fee is $30 per person. The fee covers a t-shirt, sticker, water bottle, and an in-person celebration on Friday, May 22nd, at 6:00 pm at the Park Conference Center. Participants will also pick up their swag bag on May 22nd after completing the spring hiking challenge and turning in their trail log sheet that is provided.
The 60-day challenge time period begins March 21st and ends May 19th, 2026. Kick off your hiking by doing a Ranger-guided Spring Hike on March 21st (TBA – registration for hike required)
** Pets are welcome but must be kept on a leash. All canines that participate will receive a special gift. Please remember to clean up after your furry friend along the way.
In-Person Celebration May 22, 6:30 pm - Come meet hikers that took the challenge just like you. Enjoy food and beverages while reminiscing about your Spring challenge journey.
