Guided Tours at Sgt. Alvin C. York State Park
The guided walking tour will take visitors through the home shared by Alvin and Gracie York. During the 45-minute tour, visitors will learn about how the Yorks received the home, what daily life was like in the home, and what the Yorks did in the years after Alvin returned from World War I. The tour of the upstairs portion of the York home lasts around five minutes, and while the upstairs is not wheelchair accessible, accommodations can be made.
Driving Tour of Wolf River Valley
The park offers a paid driving tour of the Wolf River Valley every Saturday and Sunday at 12:00 PM CT. Departing from the Visitor Center, participants will follow the park guide in their own vehicle to the various locations, with some minimal walking involved at most of the stops. Stops include the original home site and the York Bible School. The cost is $10 for those 13 and older, free for 12 and under with limited space available.
The park DOES NOT issue refunds unless the park cancels the tour. Current day tours may be reserved by calling or visiting the park. Reservation changes or cancellations may be made by calling the office at Sgt. Alvin C. York State Historic Park at (931) 879-6456 daily from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM CT.
